CAD Drafter

• Create detailed shop drawings and fabrication files using AutoCAD based on design concepts, sketches, or engineered drawings.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and production teams to ensure drawings meet functional and aesthetic goals.
• Translate branding and architectural elements into practical sign fabrication solutions.
• Prepare layout drawings showing sign placement, installation methods, and material specifications.
• Maintain drawing standards and adhere to ADA, local building codes, and municipal sign regulations.
• Revise drawings based on feedback from clients, engineering, or production.
• Maintain organized file structures and drawing archives.
• Assist with occasional field measurements and site surveys if needed.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting required; 3D skills a plus).
• Minimum 1 year of drafting experience, preferably in signage, architectural, or fabrication environments.
• Strong understanding of materials and fabrication methods commonly used in the sign industry (e.g., aluminum, acrylic, vinyl, LED, welding, routing).
• Ability to interpret design intent and translate it into technical drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects.
• Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or other vector-based programs is a plus.
• Familiarity with CNC file prep is a bonus

Working Conditions:

Operates in a demanding, fast-paced, people-oriented environment. Some exposure to dirt, noise, temperature variance, and variable weather conditions that are associated with sign fabrication, site survey and installation. Deadline pressure is an integral part of the job with the potential for managing multiple project assignments. Works with a variety of people including vendors, customers, employees, and leadership.

Required Work Schedule:

Work hours are generally during normal business hours 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday-Thursday with variable hours on Fridays, and an average of at least 40 hours a week. There may be slight variations in work hours due to special projects and deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

Will alternate walking, sitting, and standing throughout work shift. Work is primarily performed at a desk. There is regular use of the keyboard, tablets and telephone. Requires the ability to receive detailed information through verbal communication. Vision acuity corrected to 20/40.
